Colorado Publisher Ranks Tissue Company

Denver, Colorado-based publisher of America's Best annual newsletter, Warren J. Rosaluk, said his reference checks on companies nationwide revealed widespread agreement among tissue converters and manufacturers on two important issues.

"My newsletter profiles the top companies in a specific industry," said Rosaluk, "but before I can effectively check references on a company, I need to determine objective, industry-wide factors upon which to base the reference check. The factors need to be of substantial importance like prices and service, and the reference must be able to grade them on a scale of 1 to 10, I being the worst, and 10 being the best. That enables me to compare companies and to rank them."

In researching the criteria with which to compare tissue suppliers, Rosaluk said he found a nearly unanimous opinion among converters and manufacturers as to the most important distinction. "Almost every converter said that a large network of mill affiliations was number one on their wish list when selecting a supplier."

The general manager of a Wisconsin paper company told Rosaluk, "A supplier has to be able to deliver tonnage, plain and simple. The more mills they have agreements with, the more I can rely on their ability to meet my needs and my schedule."

An executive of a Mexican converter added, "I look for a company that works with mills worldwide so they can continue to supply all the different grades I need even when availability is tight in the U.S."

A plant manager's comment went right to the bottom line: "I want to be able to make one phone call instead of many, then go back to running my company without worrying about my tissue supply."

Rosaluk said that one supplier's name was mentioned most often as the multi-source leader in global tissue management. That name? Convermat Corporation, headquartered in Great Neck, New York, U.S.A. with sales and services in 80 countries worldwide.

Convermat Receives Rave Reviews

"I've tried the rest, and Convermat is the best!" The company reports that this comment came from a survey of North American paper mills and converters. The survey was performed for Convermat Corporation, by an independent consultant in Denver, Colorado.

The consultant, Warren J. Rosaluk, said, "I research companies all over the country in a variety of industries and rarely do I find such widespread enthusiastic praise for a specific organization."

Rosaluk provided the following examples. "Convermat thoroughly understands the U.S. and international tissue markets," said Mike Belt of Wisconsin Tissue Mills. "They have the relationships and contacts to move tonnage and the financial strength to meet the requirements of the transaction. Convermat has been the catalyst in our ramping up so quickly." Dwight Fisk of Straubel Paper stated, "Convermat has clout, and they always do what they say they will do." Addressing the bottom line, Tom Armstrong of Pope & Talbot reported, "They save us money, and they make us money." Many companies said they deal primarily, if not exclusively, with Convermat.

The reasons listed included Convermat's:

1. Expertise as a specialist;
2. Capability as a single source of all products and grades;
3. Superior customer service;
4. Integrity;
5. Timely delivery;
6. Worldwide network of suppliers and customers and;
7. Global competitive advantage.
