Tissue: Is the Glass Half
Empty or Half Full
TAPPI & PIMA Solutions
June 2003.
GREAT NECK, NY, June 2003 -
The
tissue industry in 2002 saw "the best of times and the worst of
times." Some players went bankrupt, others barely survived, but for
still others it was a very good year or a even strong year. Given the
current weak state of the economy and the many global uncertainties, the tissue
industry has remained a consistent performer in the paper industry. The
significant and seemingly ominous changes on the surface of the tissue
industry-consolidations, closures, and bankruptcies- have opened new
opportunities for small and large manufacturers and converters.

Tissue Industry Adjusts to
New Markets
TAPPI & PIMA Solutions
October 2002.
GREAT NECK, NY, October
2002 -
The
past year has proven just how risky it can be to attempt predicting the future.
After a wild roller-coaster ride on Wall Street in 2000 and the earlier
part of 2001, September 11th changed the entire world, permanently.
As a result of the unprecedented terrorist attacks in our skies and on
our soil, Wall Street was closed for nearly an entire week.
The global economy showed the strain and we’ve all been working toward
recovery since. The tissue market
has been no exception. click

The increasingly global economy
and the state of tissue industry.
Paper Week Convention Daily March 2001.
GREAT NECK, NY, March 2001 - Mergers & acquisitions, Europe, Asia, Latin
America, and the Internet. All of these have become factors in the rapidly
growing globalization and changing face of the tissue industry. Only a few years
ago it was quite enough to describe a company as "the leading company in
the US" to assume its likely global market dominance. That's something that
none of us can any longer take for granted. click

Tissue Trends & markets in the new millennium.
Walden-Mott Daily at ISSA Convention. Oct. 2000.
GREAT NECK, NY If youre part of the tissue industry, then youre
part of one of the more dynamic industries in the world. Sounds like
some other industry? Then consider the fact that there have been
more than 40 mergers or acquisitions since 1995 in the global tissue
industry. For full story, click
